Have a photo of a glorious sunrise:
Dawn over lake union. Happy Beltain everyone! on Twitpic
This morn we, as we have for the past 15 or so years, got up long before the dawn and made our way across the valley and over the bridge to Gasworks Park in Seattle to celebrate the dawning of the May with Morris dancers, a hobby horse, coffee and companionship!

The weather could not have been more delightful, I was pretty comfortable in my sleeveless dress with shrug and sandals. I'll admit the fingers and toes got a little cold, but it was sooooo pretty.

Afterwards we headed to the funky side of Seattle for breakfast and Beth's Cafe, home of the 12 egg omelet (I kid you not). No, I've never even attempted one, but yeah they are supposed to be great.

And how did you celebrate the First of May?

I was up long before the dawn as well, and drove the roughly 25-30 miles to a park in Seattle to greet the dawn with Morris ... wait a minute. You were there, too? I went to Beth's Cafe afterwards as well. What a coincidence!!

Went camping. Slept in, for a change - the Sgt and the Babe took a drive, because the Babe was waking people before 6 (not a polite thing to do, even at 1 year, to a bunch of hungover pagans). Was indoctrinated into the Secret Order of the Sockmonkey. Watched Rob screw up jokes, which made them funnier. Fielded tons of questions about "where's your dad?" (yeah, I felt a bit like chopped liver)

Then took a drive back home in the glorious sunshine, through the town crawling (not literally, because they stood there - they were statues, after all) with dinosaurs, back through Toppinish where I proceeded to spill chicken gravy down my pant leg, then got home and began cleaning and putting everything away from the trip.

It's actually just as well that he didn't - it was 30 the first night we were there, and 20-25 the second. With as much as the cold killed my hands and arms, he'd have been miserable. Also, the space was much larger - great for getting some space, but much worse for needing to go from place to place.
