nephir: Child of the Morrigan (Morrigan)
So, spring is finally showing it's face here in the Pacific Northwest - we're have the more than occasional sunny day with temps in the mid-40's to low 50's. I've broke out the flip flops and have already spent a few days in them and I'm thinking about how I want my toenails painted so they look cute in the flip flops.
The spring makes me want to go out and do ... I don't know, yardy sort of stuff.... but I cannot easily yet. Need to get the front 1/4 acre mowed however, it's looking like a meadow rather than a lawn at the moment.

School is keeping me on my toes - I am taking 28 credits this quarter (yea, I did lose my mind, why do you ask :P)

I actually don't mind having added the 8 credits to an already full schedule. They are classes I need, the timing was perfect and I had a great fear that at least one might not get offered again for a while.

This quarter I am taking:
Funeral Directing
Funeral Services Sociology & Counseling
Funeral Services Ethics
Mortuary Law
Business Law
Small Business Managment
& Intermediate Algebra

Homework is being a little painful this weekend - I'm working on a presentation for Monday, also I have a business law paper to write. I did get my SBM posting done and I am mostly done with the math homework.  I need to get it all finished so I can go to the plant sale tomorrow after math class that the college is holding. I want to pick up some stuff to plant around to add diversity to the greenbelts that surround us though I did spot trillium's by us this week. I need to take a stroll and get some pictures before they are gone.

In less than 2 weeks [Bad username or unknown identity:  ] will be treking up here to hang out and visit - we're going to have a blast. So far we've planned trips to the zoo, the Space Needle & Science Center, Leavenworth, and the Underground tour. She's also going to tag along to classes at least one day at her request.

So, what are you up to? Any plans for Easter if you celebrate, or did for Passover? How about Eostra?

nephir: Snow (Snow)
We had our first snowfall yesterday, light but cold *brrrr*  I contacted my teachers saying that if we got more I'd not be coming into class today - 4+ miles down a twisty mountain road makes it a bit tricky some days,.

When I got up this morning it was only lightly snowing and cold but no real accumulation so I packed out to the car and made the trip into Redmond for my English class. Turns out the teacher couldn't make it in due to the roads so class was canceled.

That's okay, I was planning on sticking around to have lunch with Mr. SJ and the passing off of the cat litter that I had picked up for him this weekend at Costco but there is nothing to do for the time being but to sit in Denny's while killing time.  Just had a text from Mr. SJ, he will be understanding if I should bail on lunch, so I'm going to finish up this entry and head home with one quick stop at Freddies for a couple of things we couldn't find last night at the grocery store.

I have been watching the snow come down from my table, it's finally lightened up and is looking better than it was when I first arrived but it is still coming down. I'm pretty ticked with myself, I forgot my flashdrive that has my currently in progress story and homework on it so I can't work on any of them while I am killing time.  I will eventually move from the Denny's to Starbuck's where I will have access to a plugin for the netbook.

I am looking forward to Thanksgiving, but it'll be a little sad without the Middle Spawn, the Sgt. and the Spawnlette here.  It's hard to spend the holidays apart, but its for the best with the travel restrictions and snow on the passes. I'd rather that they were safe and warm in their home than stuck in the snow and cold on the way here.  Still, we will miss them.

Well, I am off to head back home.  Have a wonderful day wherever you are!
nephir: Whip it GOOD! (whip)
Yesterday was my Friday from school *WHOO HOO*.  I have survived my first week of many to come with some things I need to remember for next week:
  • Clean out and use the damned rolling computer bag.  My neck and shoulders, let alone my back will love for it.
  • Remember to take something to heat up in the commons or a sandwich for that time between classes (M&W 4 hours!) so I am not starving when I get home.
  • Yes, the special butt cushion will continue to go with me to classes.
  • Refill the bottle with the anxiety meds for my Youngest Spawn for the two days we are at the school together.
  • The stairs are GOOD for me, even when I hate them.  Continue to use them woman!
  • Parking will continue to suck.  Get over it and maybe buy an umbrella.
Yesterday I swapped back out the loaner car for our car at the dealership.  As an FYI, KIA Sportages are nice and roomy and suck gas like there is no tomorrow!  We had it 2 days..... and went from a full tank to half a tank in three car rides.  That my friends is bad mileage.

So, I came home from school, dropped off all my stuff, hooked back up my laptop to it's place on the desk, tried to catch-up with various journals then went to bed at 6:00 pm.  I figured I would get back up around 9 or so and then back to bed around midnight.

I actually got up this morning at 7:30.  I guess I was tired.

I'll be seeing the Spawnlette and her parents (The Middle Spawn & the Sargent)  this weekend, she's taken up crawling since last I got to see her so that'll be fun.
