and all through the house was the sound of people sleeping deeply...
For years the spawn and we have gone out and done stuff on Christmas day -- we don't really celebrate it; we exchange gifties and have our dinner on Solstice, so for us, it's just a day where we can play if we can find the right place.
This year we went bowling and had loads of fun. We cheered for every ball thrown and commiserated when we missed.
herbmcsidhe was having a bad FM flareup, so he didn't go with us, so the girls and I meet for brunch with
freyrboy and his partner at their house, and afterwards headed for the bowling alley.
After three games we decided we were done so headed out to see a movie as well. We saw the Chronicles of Narnia, The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. What a beautiful adaptation of the book I loved as a child. Visually stunning it reduced me to tears several times, in much the same way a LoTRs fan probably was at it's first showing.
I plan on seeing it again, most likely with Herb since he missed out.
Afterwards the spawn and I headed to Denny's for a late supper and then on to home.
I hope that everyone out there had a lovely holiday (however you celebrate) with your chosen loved ones.
