*MEEPLE ALERT*

I just spent the past 48 hours at the hospital with my youngest daughter.

All is well *now* and she'll get to come home tomorrow just in time for Yule.

Her eldest sister is staying with her tonight.

She had to have emergency gall bladder surgery -- at 16!

Needless to say == this is the first time that I've had a chance to sit at a computer and read my LJ and update.

Hugs to all my friends and family who have been here for me at this time.

*END MEEPLE*

So, all I can say is thank the Gods that I took her into the emergency room when I did and that it is all turning out for the best.

I'm glad to hear that your daughter is doing well. Though I am going to offer a word of advive. I've had this surgery. For her sake, don't listen to the docs when they say a normal diet is ok. For at least the first year you'll want to lower her beef intake to about once a week, and avoid tomato sauce and anything with more than a teaspoon of grease in it for the first month, as well as no lettuce if possible.

These are the worst things for someone who has had this surgery. They cause unpleasantness and are painful to try to digest.

Sorry to preach, but I know a lot of people who have had this surgery, and the doctors never tell them that even with the surgery, you still stay sick for the first couple of months after the surgery. These foods and carbanated beverages can cause extreme pain, espcially since her surgery was an emergency.

YEp -- I know all too well. I went through it 10 years ago and still have issues eating tomatos and some types of chocolate.

She's home and doing well.

Thanks for all your suggestions -- I'm sure that they will come in handy!

Yep -- she's home and spent the day playing the new Kingdom Hearts game for game boy.

That's kinda what I thought, but the nurse said that one of her co-workers had an 9 year old daughter that also has had her's out.

The doctor had no real ideas as to why this happened other than that I'd had mine out at 32. Vodoo is more helpful I think!

Thanks!
