nephirit's 10:30 here and the house is winding down for the evening. Power has been back on since Thursday night and I think I am finally nearly caught up with my flist and my various email accounts.
I went over to![[insanejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/ij-userinfo.gif)
freyrboy's house yesterday to help set up, cook and enjoy a holiday party. He was a little worried that he'd not be able to have the party due to the power outages, but his power came back on early Friday morning.
He and I met early Saturday morning to shop for all the food and then headed over to his house to begin prep for it all.
As per usual many folks showed up and offered to help out with various tasks that needed to be done before dinner could be served. We had a lovely and huge meal....
Cheese plates
Shrimp Cocktail
Turkey
Turkey breast rolled with crushed Andou chilies and garlic
Ham (which we totally forgot to put out)
Salad
Slaw made from thinly sliced brussel sprouts, toasted walnuts and parmesean cheese
Cubed and roasted yams and sweet potatoes
Candied carrots & parsnips
Mashed potates
Bread
Cranberry sauce
and then for desserts we had:
Thick & dark chocolate mousse with fresh raspberries or orange
Pear tart
Pumpkin Cheesecake
and the assorted 9 bottles of red wine we killed during the meal.
