nephirLets recap the last three+ weeks shall we?
My baby turned 19. You many not have heard me but MY BABY TURNED 19!!!!!!!!
It was a pleasant birthday (huzzah) – we had an assortment of 16-24 year old ladies in our house for the weekend to celebrate the natal holiday. Kareokee (yeah, I know its not spelled right), DDR, movies and music….
And the stress of my baby turning 19 which meant that she was losing her health insurance unless she was back in school (those of you familiar with the Youngest Spawn, you know what an issue this can be with everything else happening with her)…so she was stressing out over that, and the financial issues that would bring up (somewhere in the neighborhood of $5000 a month in med costs out of pocket if there is no insurance) and with the stressing the bi-polar kicked into play.
And then there was work…..
Which was trying to close out the fiscal year (yeah, we all know what a pain in the ass that is) and everyone in the division trying to get one last product out the door to generate revenue for the fiscal year. Dorks. All of them. Some of these projects had been in the planning stages since December of last year and they didn’t think to let me know until now. 500 SKUs was what they needed in the space of 2 weeks. Needless to say that didn’t happen. They got 250 in the two weeks and the other in the next week. Dipwads, all of them.
Then there was the SEV 1 issue which required that I spend two weeks doing nothing but scrubbing BOMs for the affected parts to have them removed.
And the Elder Spawn wasn’t without her angst in all of this….her check engine light had come on and she needed to have the engine checked out. We ransomed her car to the tune of $1005.00 on Thursday, and she needs brakes front and back as well (another 800 at least).
Middle Spawn finished up school for the semester, but is choosing not to go to the summer session because she’s going to
Today I am spending a quiet day sitting at <lj user="freyrboy">’s house while the group is gaming. I’m spending the time catching up on reading my flist and rereading ‘A Confederation of Valor’ by the wondrous <lj user="andpuff"> while I wait to be able to purchase the 3rd in the series that is now out in hardback.
I had forgotten just how much I adore this series and how it makes me grin and laugh outloud.
To all my flist that have had birthdays since I was last on….I hope that it was enjoyable for you.
For those of you dealing with personal crisis’ – you are in my thoughts and prayers.
For those of you that may read PurpleFox (Jo B) who writes Mulder/Skinner slash, she had her mom pass away rather quickly (in the space of days) after getting a diagnosis of breast cancer (that was spread many places apparently).
Enough of the whining from me....i

More ERATTA: The Youngest Spawn is registered for school (huzzah) and will be returning to the local community college in the fall.

It sounds like the past few weeks were quite busy on your side!
It's great that your Youngest Spawn is registered for school.
Work sounds like quite a bumpy road. *hugs* People should *really* learn to pay attention.
