I was just asking some friends that very question today. It's disturbing to see all of the school shootings and violence that has come about in just the last few weeks, and makes one wonder what is happening... For the most part I remember my high school years where school was a safe place (well granted it was a private boarding school... my one year at public not so much... same actually for middle... so maybe it's always been this way?) Still... it seems to be escalating *sigh*
I was talking to someone about it and we just don't understand why this sort of thing happens. It can almost be seen in most modern schools, the kids are exposed to violence everywhere, but when it hits into a community that stands away from thus world and stays to itself, its even harder for me to understand.
Yeah, I know it is something that I don't get. Then again things are so diffrent even from when I was a kid, while we had violence and such (I remeber seeing a young man beat over the head with a bicycle in middle school) it was nothing to this extreme (or the extreme that has been seen in the last years) And there wasn't the coverage that it gets these days either. There are times I wonder if that doesn't have some revelance in the matter.
