Thanksgiving memories, old and new
We always had a big meal growing up, mainly just the sibs with mom and dad but occasionally we would have cousins, aunts and uncles as well. It was a time to gather together, eat far too much food and just sit and relax for a day.
When me moved to the Pacific Northwest we had to create our own traditions for the holidays as we were far away from our family and often found ourselves opening up our house to friends, the families of choice, many of whom were also far from their families of birth.
Today we open our house (messy as it is) to friends and family, to celebrate what we are thankful for -- here is my list:

herbmcsidhe for 25 years together -- its not always been smooth or easy but it always been an adventure. I lave you sweetheart.
My three daughters -- each one is unique and wonderful and I treasure everyday that we have together.
My job which keeps me on my toes and makes me think.
The roof over our head (leaky as it is) and food on the table (bountiful and blessed) and that fact what we are here together...still.
Our friends, here with us and those who are not.
I hope that all you you have plenty to be thankful for as well....
